Royal Caribbean va construire ses premiers paquebots au GNL à Turku

Le groupe américain Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd et le chantier finlandais de Turku, filiale du groupe allemand Meyer Werft, ont conclu un accord en vue de réaliser une nouvelle classe de grands paquebots dotés d’une propulsion duale fonctionnant au gaz naturel liquéfié (GNL) et au gasoil. Adoptant un tout nouveau design, ces navires, connus sous le nom de projet Icon, auront une capacité d’environ 5000 passagers. Ils doivent rejoindre Royal Caribbean International, l’une des filiales de RCCL, au second trimestre 2022 et au second trimestre 2024.

Des équipements Kongsberg pour le navire polaire britannique

Kongsberg Maritime has been awarded a contract by Cammell Laird as the primary supplier of the acoustic scientific research and mapping equipment for the British Antarctic Survey’s new Polar Research Vessel, the RRS Sir David Attenborough. The new polar research ship, owned by Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), is currently under construction at the Cammell Laird shipyard in Birkenhead in the Port of Liverpool City Region, UK in a build project worth £140million. The ship is due to enter operation in 2019.
